Carlitos Pizza and Empanadas started in Panama 5 years ago by Master pizza maker, Carlos Knuppel from Argentina, who has been making and teaching pizza-making since 1976. The pizzas are one of a kind, made in the kitchen daily, from the dough to the sauce. Every added ingredient is fresh.
The menu offers a stunning variety of reasonably priced, thin crust, pizzas which are also made with a whole wheat crust for an additional .75 cents. If one of the many combinations on the menu does not suit your taste, the kitchen will create the pizza you want from the many toppings available.
Apart from pizzas, the menu also offers a variety of salads, meat and vegetarian lasagnas, grilled meats, empanada appetizers and a nice selection of desserts.
Give their white wine sangria a try. It is a delightful afternoon drink packed with fresh fruit.
Located on the side of the Interamerican highway across from the entrance to El Palmar Playa, Carlitos is run by Carlos Knuppel and his wife Omaira Singh. A colorful and breezy open concept restaurant, Carlitos is a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon snack or a casual evening meal. It certainly is a welcome addition to the Pacific Playa restaurants.
