{mosimage}Yellow-Faced Grassquit (tiaras olivacea) is of the sparrow family. It is found in semi-open areas such as low scrub and gardens. It forages on the ground for food, feeding mainly on grass seeds, but also takes other seeds, berries and some insects.

It is 10 cm long with a short sharp conical bill. This is a picture of a male. The females are dull olive green with less distinct markings over eye and on chest. This one was spotted in El Valle.
