Welcome on ´Expat´s Money`

„Expat´s Money“ will not be a common additional investment report, there are existing sufficient.

The name is indicating: it is for expats, it is for us, for our community in Panamá. And one of the most developped sites for expats in Panamá is Coronado.

Here you can find a lot of different characteristics. But you will not find our special friends

  • Joe Sixpack

&

  • Fritz Sauerkraut.

I am starting this new section. Because someone has to start. But I hope, I will not stay alone too much time. I want to find assistance and different opinions inside and outside our international community.

From time to time you will realize: the English language isn´t my mother tongue.

Ich bin ein Berliner_300x254.jpg

I am born in Germany - in Berlin. But when Kennedy visited Berlin after the GDR built up the wall, together with my parents I already had moved from Berlin to another town very well known in the US. Many years I lived and studied in Heidelberg, where there was the european headquarter for the US military after the second world war. Of course I have had many US-friends, living in Patrick Henry or Mark Twain Village. And by the way: the American icecream was the best you could buy those days.

In Heidelberg I studied economy and laws and finished my law studies in one of the oldest universities of the world („Ruprecht-Karls-Universität“, Heidelberg). Following I worked a lot of years as a lawyer.

Specialised in civil law I created a lot of possibilities to reduce tax burden by using offshore companies and accounts. Since several years in reality it´s hard to do that within a country like Germany. So in 1997 I first moved to the Dominican Republik where you could work like a spider in the middle of a web of tax havens - each of them near by, including Panamá. But criminality and bad financial decisions of the dominican government let me decide to move to Panamá. Here I am with all my collected experiences including the feeling „to know that you know nothing“.

To defend privacy remains to be very important. I hope you will find some proper advice here.

But it does not help very much, if you are loosing your wealth because of a possible global collaps and as a result that the greenback will loose his position as the world´s dominant currency what will affect all fiat money like Euro and Yen too.

My opinion is, nowadays it is not as important to gain big interest as to save the funds you already do have.

And because we are not living in our homelands, everything is different. We do have more possibilities where we are living now:

in Panamá.
