Located at on the main road into Coronado, Rincon del Chef restaurant is a popular dining location for Panama’s Pacific Playa Communities. Run by Chef Fernando A. Paredes, the restaurant sits in a charming artisan square and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Chef Fernando opened Rincon del Chef in Coronado 4 years ago, after many years of experience in the food industry. Trained in Panama at INAFORP (INADEH), Chef Fernando cooked at the Hotel Panama and the highly exclusive Union Club in Panama City. A long term resident of Coronado, Fernando was head chef and Director of Food and Beverage for Hotel Coronado for 10 years, before opening his own restaurant.
For the local expat community, Rincon del Chef is a favorite hangout. On the fourth Wednesday of every month, Chef Fernando puts on a buffet style dinner for the Expat West Group, serving generous dishes of meats, pastas and a variety of salads and desserts for $10.50 a person. Rincon del Chef also opens their meeting room to local meetings and club gatherings.
Amidst the rising prices and declining attitudes of many area restaurants, Rincon del Chef continues to respect its clientele with good prices and a large menu with good food. Chef Fernando claims as his strategy, “my philosophy is to offer good food at reasonable prices”.
For people on the go, the restaurant offers an Executive Lunch Menu of hearty dishes that get to your table quickly. For dinner you can expect an in- season, off-menu special entre. If you have a taste for something special or follow a certain diet, just ask Chef Fernando to accommodate your preferences. “Often we can adjust a menu dish or make a recommendation from what we have in the kitchen”.
Available for catering large and small events, El Rincon del Chef restaurant is open Sunday to Thursday from 8:30am to 9:00pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 8:30am to 10:00pm. Reservations not needed.
